Great trip out on the Mako on Saturday diving on the Exmouth an American Export Line ship which was en route to New York when she stayed into British defensive minefield on the 31st July 1944. Everyone onboard which included 43 merchant sailors and the 27-man Armed Guard.survived.
She sits between 53-55 metres on the bottom her Stern intact with a large gun complete with shells piled on an upper deck. Smaller Guns on turrets and 3 more guns on the bow which is broken off and twisted from the main part of the ship. Loads to see including saithe shoals lobster wrasse and Bib and not bad vis Great dive thanks to Steve Haddow for taking us out and buddies Stewart and Peter. Good to see everything one having a great day and a party on the way home fuelled by Stewarts home brew..
